Model No:AEI-VGG-SH40
Van De Graff Generator for Physics Lab Hand operated on base. The generator is self exiting and charge separation occurs.
A metal sphere surrounds the upper pulley assembly and charge accumulates on the sphere, which is insulated by a plastic column supporting the pulley assembly. The charge builds up until electrical breakdown of air surrounding the sphere occurs, supplied with a discharging sphere.
The high voltage generated by a Van de Graaff generator can be used to accelerate ions for scientific experiments. The acceleration of ions can be used in studies of atomic and molecular collisions, as well as for the production of x-rays and other forms of radiation. The Van de Graaff generator is a powerful tool for demonstrating electrostatic principles. Through this lab, students gain hands-on experience with high voltage, observe the effects of electrostatic forces, and develop a deeper understanding of electric charge behavior. This foundational knowledge is essential for further studies in electricity and magnetism.
